Traffic Signal Lanterns
The project involved analysis and technical understanding of the New Zealand Standard covering Traffic Signal Lanterns – AS/NZS 2144:2002.
Corporate Logistics presented an assessment of the standards validity with respect to today’s advances with LED technology to the NZ Standards Committee. Overseas lanterns were assessed with respect to meeting AS/NZ Standard permitting their use within New Zealand conditions.
Product trials were conducted over a 12-month period in conjunction with local authorities. Asessments made concerning degradation of lamp lumen loss and suitability for use in NZ conditions.
Options were presented for local government for retrofitting LED bulbs to replace existing incandescent lamps for signal controlled intersections.

Lower North Island Logistics Hub feasibility study (Taranaki-Hawkes Bay - Wellington - Manawatu boundary). The initial project found the region short on aircargo capability and the concept of using the RNZAF Ohakea site was suggested. This spawned several other projects to review this option and test intra-government agreements for co-operation. Beginning in 2004 this project was completed in 2006.
